How are you planning to lose weight? Will you exercise, diet, or even have surgery? What do professionals think about weight loss? Let's take a look!

Does the advertisement claiming to lose 10 pounds mean losing 10 pounds of fat?

Advertisements love to use this concept to mislead you, claiming they guarantee you'll lose 10 pounds in 7 days, but they never guarantee you'll lose 10 pounds of pure fat. Losing 10 pounds might include 5 pounds of water, 3 pounds of feces, 0.5 pounds of muscle, and 1.5 pounds of fat. Fat has a low density, like foam, so if someone truly lost 10 pounds of pure fat, their physique would see a significant improvement. However, in reality, many women lose 10 pounds but their physique doesn't change much because their weight loss methods are incorrect; the 10 pounds they lose are mostly fat.

Please stay away

Most weight-loss teas on the market are laxatives, and none have received authoritative certification. The average person has several kilograms of feces remaining in their intestines. Drinking weight-loss tea and going to the toilet a few times might result in immediate weight loss, but your body shape won't change because your surface fat isn't being reduced. It also disrupts the intestinal environment. Is it worth it? Fat is under the skin; how can it possibly be expelled by drinking tea? It's impossible even with a basic understanding!

Is it really true that you can target specific areas for weight loss just by exercising those areas?

Many people believe that exercising a specific area will reduce fat in that area, so they do hundreds of sit-ups every night to reduce belly fat—this is a misconception! Fat accumulation is systemic. Men accumulate fat fastest in the abdomen, while women accumulate it fastest in the hips, lower abdomen, and waist, followed by the limbs. Therefore, weight loss is also systemic, and conversely, the limbs lose fat fastest, while the waist, abdomen, and hips lose it slowest. There is no such thing as targeted fat reduction through exercise.

Can I lose weight by only doing yoga?

Yoga primarily stretches our muscles and integrates breathing and meditation. It's mostly static and can effectively relax the mind and body. While its weight loss effect isn't significant, it's a good supplementary method and is best practiced after exercise.
